Bobo Camper Hire is South Africa’s most experienced motorhome hire company as well as 4×4 camper rental specialist.
In business since 1991, we have expanded our rental fleet into the most versatile and modern motorhome and 4×4 camper fleet in Africa.
What we do
We hire out motorhomes and 4×4 campers to visitors for the self-drive market from all over the world who wish to experience southern Africa at their own pace and leisure.
From luxury fully equipped motorhomes for family travel to rugged 4×4’s for the more adventurous, we have something for all types of discoverers.

Our Discoverer FunXA is built on a rugged Toyota Hilux 4×4 chassis. It has luxuries unseen in off-road campers like a kitchen and on-board toilet.

Best rates in the market for models no older than 5 years – by far most are younger than 2 years. Our rates are published so you can make a quick decision.
Still no contract fees, extra driver fees as well as free drop-off.

We spent almost a month travelling across South Africa in a Bobo motorhome — and the experience was fantastic. At first, the RV felt a bit small, but it turned out to be incredibly practical, functional, and very comfortable. It drives smoothly, and the quality of the build and equipment was excellent throughout the trip. We did have a couple of minor issues along the way, but Bobo Campers responded immediately and efficiently, even when we were in remote areas. Their support was truly outstanding. Staff was really helpful and professional. Anja and Malou were attentive to every detail and always ready to assist. Highly recommended

We just returned our Bobo caravan to the Windhoek office after 13 incredible days and nearly 2,000 km of travel. From the moment we landed, the service was smooth and professional—airport pickup, a warm welcome at the office, and a clear walkthrough of the camper’s features. Everything was explained efficiently, and we were on the road in no time. We traveled from the eastern side of Namibia through Etosha, exiting at the western gate. The camper performed flawlessly throughout. One of the highlights was being able to park at watering holes in Etosha and enjoy hours of wildlife viewing with everything we needed right there—comfort, shade, food, and cold drinks. It truly elevated the safari experience. The Johannesburg office helped us with the booking and the Windhoek team on the ground took amazing care of us. Highly recommended for anyone looking to explore southern Africa with freedom and comfort. We’ll definitely be back!
